How to remove "powered by blogger" or "attribution widget" from your blog

Your blog(old/new interface) contains following attribute/gadget/widget when you create a new blog.
It is shown just at the end of your blog. Like this:

simple template  (your template name) powered by blogger

If this thing annoys you and you want to remove it from your blog,you should consider the following steps.


1.Go to your blog, then template, then go to edit HTML.

If it's an old blogger interface, it will ask for confirmations. If asks,press proceed.
2. Just click on "jump to widget".
If it's an old blogger interface, mark the box of "Expand Widget Templates"

Find (you can type in quickfind menu by pressing Cntrl+F, you will find the item you type here) this line in your editor :

<!-- outside of the include in order to lock Attribution widget -->    

(copy and paste it in your quickfind menu)

delete this line

3. find again this line :

<b:widget id='Attribution1' locked='true' title='' type='Attribution'>

(copy and paste it in your quickfind menu)

mark the lines from "<b:widget id='Attribution1' locked='true' title='' type='Attribution'>"......to......"</b:widget>".

delete these lines too

[it means,you've deleted the line

and the lines

<b:widget id='Attribution1' locked='true' title='' type='Attribution'>

from your editor]

4.now,press "save template".

If it's an old interface, press "delete widgets" (pop up),now again save your template.

your blog no more contains this horrible thing...!!!

IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH HTML EDITING, JUST BACK UP YOUR HTML CODES SO THAT YOU CAN RESTORE IT AND BRING YOUR BACKED UP TEMPLATE BACK. CLICK ON "TEMPLATE" AND "BACKUP/RESTORE" THEN BACK IT UP.
